"ApexSQL makes some incredible tools for SQL Server. This happens to be the one I purchased for myself. They have an editor that basically replaces query analyzer and is much better(I have that at work). Anyway, ApexSQL Script allows you to generate scripts to build database objects along with the data. It deals with relationships and the scripts that are generated are very efficient and fast. I recently had to use this at work after one of our database tables was hosed. It inserted 87,000 records over the network in about 10-15 minutes. I have used other tools in the past but they generate slow scripts that only work if you have a very simple database schema. I use this to move databases from one environment to another when I need to script the structure and/or pre-populate the database. I also find it very useful for testing applications. If there is baseline information at a point in the development lifecycle that you wish to start from when testing, you can generate a script, run tests, put the structure and data back to where it was when you generated the script, make changes and test again."

I use ApexSQL Script when developing dynamic web apps for small clients who utilize shared hosting services.
Frequently I don't have enough access to the shared hosting MSSQL Server for effecient [sic] development. I do all my development on local servers, and the ApexSQL Script product is a life saver when I need to move to the production environment at a shared host where I cannot restore a backup. The tool is also a life saver when I need to take over a project and have limited permissions on the production server. I can get a copy of the live system to place into my develpment [sic] environment faster and easier with ApexSQL Script than any other product or method I have tried. Of course I also rely heavily on ApexSQL Diff to help me keep the development, staging and production evironments [sic] in sync."David Volle
